All the plants used in our dried herbal formulas are ethically wild-crafted from tropical rainforest areas at risk for development or grown on the organic farm, Arco Iris in Valley of Peace, Cayo District, Belize, Central America. Your purchase of a rainforest product helps promote that the forest is worth more standing than cut down.

These medicinal plant formulas contain bio-active compounds which assist normal metabolic functions of the body and are NOT intended as a substitute for physician care. Traditional healers of Belize have used these remedies for centuries to promote the health of the human body.

These formulas come to us from the synergistic partnership of Dr. Rosita Arvigo & her teacher Don Elijio Panti, a traditional Maya Healer. Beginning in 1992, the result of his long-time work with clients, along with Dr. Arvigo's background as an herbalist & Doctor of Naprapathy, they developed these formulas from their knowledge and proximity to the powerful plants of Belize. Additionally, the wisdom from Midwife/Herbal Healer Hortense Robinson is also included in these offerings from the rainforest of Belize.

Dr. Arvigo made a life-long promise to her teacher to preserve the knowledge & the ecological source of the plants & accomplishes this with the non-profit foundation, the Ix Chel Tropical Research Foundation of Belize. Devoted to traditional healing & cultural preservation, it supports several educational programs for Belizean children & teachers.

In 2015, the reins of the Rainforest Remedies were handed over to Eva & Toby Sengfelder. On their Arco Iris Permaculture Farm, they are able to both grow & use salvage botany locally to harvest and wildcraft the ingredients of these formulas.

Patience Harvey is a long time practitioner of Abdominal Therapy Massage as taught by Dr. Rosita Arvigo. She has also been studying herbs for 50 years! When she first was introduced to the Rainforest Remedies she was amazed at their ability to address the human body in such a remarkable way! Her many travels to Belize over the years have allowed her to see many of these plants in their natural habitat.They are a mainstay in her family's wellness including her grandchildren.
